Day 19 - June 13 - Column Work  and Scouting for Computers

Hello all! Thanks for reading. This is Anna, writing to you over a cup of instant coffee. We are a little behind on the blog, so I'm writing about yesterday. After breakfast, some of us went into town to run errands while the rest visited the site. We have been shopping around for resources to put in the center like computers, books, and learning games. After visiting a few electronics shops, we finally met a helpful employee who gave us a lot of information, so we are making progress on getting computers. Afterwards, three of us visited a tailor and got fitted for sari blouses. They'll be ready on Monday, and we're planning on wearing them at our farewell ceremony. On site, they finished pouring columns, so we'll be ready to start working on the roof very soon. We spent the afternoon playing frisbee and hide and go seek with the children and talking to their parents with Sowmya's help. They kids had a lot of fun playing on the piles of sand sitting around on site. - Anna

Fun day with the kids today. Lots of piggy back rides and shoulder rides. Lots of giggles and smiles.

Rooftop photo of building .. although the sun is so bright it washes a lot out.

Upclose shot of forms.

Building with final section of column forms.

Erin exploring the compacted fill. They flooded the building with a layer of water to compact the dirt so that the sub floor could be installed and leveled.
