Day 18 - June 12 - Brickwork complete up to roof!

Goooooood morning fellow readers, Danish here reporting for duty! It's a cool 95°F here in Packianathapuram with a high chance of adventure. The sun is out and our buns are burnt. In today's edition we will be venturing into the wild for a highly sought after treat and hit the road in the afternoon to hunt for some wisdom. The evening is forecasted to be packed with laughter with a hint of tension from a serious, not so serious, ultimate frisbee match. In the morning, the team headed to the worksite to help transport bricks from outside the building to the inside to make it easier for the Mason's. While the Mason's built the walls from the top of the lintel beam to the bottom of the roof beam throughout the day, the team went on a little adventure. Some of the older boys in the village (Tangaraj, Sam, and Jebastian) took us out into the fields where they extracted honey from an underground beehive using dried out coconuts to smoke out the bees. We enjoyed some honey in the shade while the boys showed off their climbing skills on coconut trees. We made our way back to the village after wandering through a maze of banana plants and learning more about the agricultural practices of the region. After lunch, half of the team went into the city to purchase some educational material and get quotes for computers. The team found some great books, different types of flash cards, some Tamil-English dictionaries, and a globe 🙌. In the evening, quite a few village members, including some older adults, gather for a nice game of ultimate. Many of the team members went around to visit village members' houses and held a tutoring session for the kids.
